Full Screen Problems

I have windows 10 and ASG remote Desktop 2016, I run dual monitors at 1920x1080

Ever since moving to Windows 10 I started having problems occasionally where the full screen window wont display correctly

For example the window is bigger than my monitor without scroll bars and I cant see the start bar in the remote computer.

If I just close the window and open it again everything seems to work fine. But its quite annoying.

The next time it happens I'll take a screen shot and post it here.

VNC connection failing after upgrading from ASG2015 to ASG2016

Good Morning,
I am hoping you can assist with an issue we are encountering since updating from ASG Remote Desktop 2015 to 2016. We have several hundred Kronos InTouch time clocks that make use of the VNC protocol. We are able to connect to them perfectly using ASG version 2015 but if we attempt to connect through the new version the connection never completes. When you try to connect it sticks on a screen stating "Connecting.. (SmartCode VNC viewer)"

Screen shots of both the connection set up as well as a Side by Side comparison of what we see when connecting using Version 2015 and Version 2016 have been attached.

Question regarding security settings

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the security options in asg remote desktop manager 2016.
As soon as I uncheck "Edit (personal data)" for my users they are not able to use personal
credentials anymore. So I basically have to enable that but as soon as that is enabled users can also
freely choose to map drives into the session which should not be allowed.

So my question is: How do I enable users to use personal credentials and let them assign them and deny users
the option to map drives, printers, smart cards etc. at the same time?

I'm probably just missing something here.

Credentials bei Verbindung zu FTP Server

Hallo,
eine kurze Frage zu ASG Remote Desktop 2016.
Wir möchten hier eine Verbindung zu einem FTP Server herstellen.
Dies hat auch über beispielsweise das HTTP/S Protokoll funktioniert. Nun ist die Frage ob man hier auch die Login Credentials hinterlegen kann ? 
Ist dies über HTTP/S nicht universell möglich, dass auch Kollegen mit den Credentials zugreifen können? Falls nein, welche Möglichkeiten haben wir sonst die Credentials für einen FTP Server zu speichern?

RD 2016 Integrated Auth Issue

I am installing a clean empty DB so I can upgrade my 2012 instance. If I create this DB with local auth I get an error saying the auth types dont match and credential passwords will not transfer. So I am trying to setup integrated auth on this new DB and have no luck. Am I missing a step? 

1) Stating with new empty mssql db
2) Created the DB with empty db option and local sql account
3) Imported my Lic key
4) On the access the database screen I click use integrated authentication

Once the DB is setup the RD app opens to the logon screen for the environment I just created and I check use integrated auth.  Thats when I a get and error saying it cant connect to my environment. "Connection could not be established" 

I look in the DB and the tables that look like they should have my domain account info in them have nothing in them. (users,  securitygroupusers)

What am I missing? What if anything am I doing wrong?

Update auf Version ASG2016 - 9.0.5385.0

Hallo Zusammen,

wir haben in unserem Unternehmen momentan noch die Version ASG-Remote Desktop 2012 Version 7.3.4144.0 im Einsatz!
Nun wollen wir auf die aktuellste Version updaten.
Dazu habe ich auf meinem Rechner die Version ASG-Remote Desktop 2016 9.0.5385.0 installiert und unsere Datenbankumgebung konfiguriert.
Jedoch erhalten wir beim Starten folgende Fehlermeldung:

Eine Verbindung zur aktuellen Umgebung konnte nicht hergestellt werden. Bitte wählen Sie eine andere Umgebung aus.


Wenn ich jedoch im Einrichtungsfenster der Datenbankverbindung auf "Verbindung testen" geh, kommt die Meldung:

Verbindungsprüfung erfolgreich
Die angegebene Verbindung konnte erfolgreich hergestellt werden.


Müssen wir hier noch ein Zwischenupdate fahren oder muss evtl. die Datenbank vorab geupdatet werden?

Profile Assistance

Hi Folks

I have been using VisionAPP for a number of years but and deploying in Via MS AppV 5.0 Package.  What I have carried out is packaged the VisionApp 2011 Package in AppV.  This is now cached on Citrix VDA's which are streamed using Citrix PVS Servers.  I am able to create a Shortcut to open the VisionApp 2011 as a Citrix Published application and this is working well.

The issue that I am seeing is that when a user in our environment connect using RDP to a server they previously were able to put the <Domain>\<username>
into the Windows login prompt.  This was then cached in the for the users.

Since moving to the appv package these settings are not been saved into the users profile.  I cannot see any files missing from the profile on the Profile Store.  I would appreciate guidance on this.

ASG Remote Desktop Locks on Windows 10

Running the latest release and have continued problems (multiple machines running Windows 10) where ASG Remote Desktop "Locks/Freezes" for 20+ seconds, usually after closing a remote connection.

Anyone else see this?

ASG 2012 and Win10 background

I have using the 2012 version for years and am very happy with it.
I did notice that when connecting to a Windows 10 device it will show the background no matter what setting I use.
MSTSC doesn't have this issue and shows a black background.

Is this a known issue and would I have to upgrade to 2016 in order to have the background back to black again?

ASG-Remote-Desktop and Video Recoding on UHD screen

Hi,

I've just started a trail of 2016.

One of the key features I needed was the video recording. However, it is only recording the top left corner of the actual screen and not the RDP window.

This seems to be a problem when using laptops/desktops with UHD monitors. When using on a standard HD monitor it works find.

As my laptop if a Surface book, this makes the video recording useless..

Externe Applikationen

Hallo zusammen,

ich teste gerade die ASG Remote Desktop Software.

So weit finde ich diese ganz praktisch und für das tägliche Arbeiten auch ganz gut.

Allerding würde ich gerne externe Applikationen miteinbauen wie beispielsweise die gängigen MMC Konsolen, Kaspersky Security Center, CMD PowerShell, VMWare, etc.

Wir haben leider aber eine ziemlich große Umgebung und mir fehlt leider die Zeit um das ganze so lange auszuprobieren bis das funktioniert...

Gibt es da nicht Irgendwo gesammeltes KnowHow wie ich so was einbinden kann?

Not able to connect ASG 2016

Hi..

We've been using ASG Remote Desktop for years and it saves a lot of time..

Now we have tried migrating to version 2016..

After backing up the database and restoring it to another name (for testing) it gives an error stating:

"A Connection to you current environment could not be established. Please select another one"

However when i press on the "Test connection" in the wizard it returns and says:

Connection check successful - The specified connection could be successfully established.


Anyone else have seen this problem and have a fix for it ???

Restricted Mode RDP /RestrictedAdmin

Hi,

We are undergoing some some changes to the way in which we use remote desktop within our company. As part of this, administrators will be forced to use RestrictedAdmin (mstsc /restrictedAdmin) mode when using RDP. Is the application able to support this?

Network drive mapping - using ASGRD on RDS

Hi,

we are evaluating ASG RD for our admins. Right now we´re testing it on a 2k12 RDS Host.
When someone connects to this host, their drives are connected right.

If they are start the application and connect to another host through ASG RD they only get the drives from the RDS Host, not these which they mapped from their client.

I can sent some screenshots on private if needed.

I'm using the asg remote desktop 2016 patch 1, and i wanted to know, is there an option to set a parameter in the registery to set the value of the pass-through authentication like you do with the UpgradeCheck? If so, would it be at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\ASG\RemoteDesktop2016?

Verbindungen Migration von 2011 auf 2015 schlägt fehl

ich wollte von 2011 auf 2015 die Verbindungen über csv Datei migrieren und bekomme die Meldung erfolgreich importiert. Allerdings bekomme ich keine Verbindungen aufgelistet. Gibt es hier einen Trick?
Ich verwende bisher immer ohne SQL Datenbank im Hintergrund. Würde es Vorteile mit sich bringen mit der verwendung einer DB?

Connect As feature not parsing credentials

Using Visionapp Remote Desktop 2012, version 7.1.3712.0

I have created an External Application for VMware vSphere Client. It appears to work just fine when using the default credentials assigned to the connection or if inherited from folder. The problem is if I try to Right Click the Connection and select "Connect As" and select different credentials than the default ones, it does NOT parse the credentials selected to the external app. It continues to use the default credentials instead.

So it appears Connect As feature does not work with external apps. Is their a way to correct this issue?

Active Directory "Sync" button missing after update to 2016v4.

Hey all,

After we updated our environment to the latest version of ASG-Remote Desktop (as of the date of posting), the active directory sync option appears to have disappeared from our connections setting menu. We expect it to be on that list, underneath Ext. Applications > Connections. Was this taken out in a version update and we missed it? Is it a bug? Or is that option someplace else in the program. Attached is an image of where we expected it to be. Please let us know!

ASG 2016 Credentials gehen verloren

Hallo Zusammen,

wir haben gestern auf die ASG 32016 Version 9.x migriert.

Bei 2 von 5 Testusers wurden die Credentials nicht übernommen im Programm selbst.

Anmeldung funktioniert einwandfrei.
Wir haben einen Test gemacht und zwar wenn der User sich mit Windows Integrated Auth. Anmeldet sind die Credentials nicht vorhanden. Wenn er den Windows User Account angibt sind die Credentials wieder da.
Wir haben auch einen Fall wo die ganzen Credentials nicht vorhanden sind egal welche Auth. Methode er verwendet.

Wir haben eine SQL DB angebunden und die Clients sind auf Windows 10 Enterprise.

Ist euch so ein Fehler bekannt ?
