Resize a Session

Hello

I have 2 screens in diffrence sizes. If i open a session on the smaller screen an put it after on the big screen, it isn't on the full size. Is there a possibility to resize the session to the size of the bigger screen?

We purchased new licenses with one year maintenance that expires in April 2016. However, the license key file we have is failing for new installs of version 2015 and 2016 warns that our license will not work. What do we need to do to get an appropriate new license key file?

ASGRD 2016 - http Credentials und Ordner Logoncredentials in DB-Modus

Hallo,

ich bin neu hier, und bin gerade dabei die neue Version von ASGRD 2016 mit einer SQL-DB für mehr User zu konfigurieren.
Ich habe im Forum schon gesucht, habe aber zur aktuellen Version keine konkreten Antworten gefunden.

Meine 3 derzeit offenen Fragen:

1. Ich habe meine Verbindungen in verschiedenen öffentlichen Ordnern organisiert. Wie schaffe ich es dass für jeden User der sich an der DB anmeldet auch sein AD-User zur Anmeldung bei der Verbindung verwendet wird, ohne auf jedem Server Single-Sign-On aktivieren zu müssen? Ich denke wenn jeder User dem Ordner seine Anmeldeeinstellungen gibt wird doch jedesmal die DB überschrieben und für andere User unbrauchbar gemacht?

2. Man kann ja praktischerweise auch http/s-Verbindungen organisieren. Kann ASGRD Logindaten speichern wie ein Browser?
Wenn nämlich nicht ist das Feature für Admins unbrauchbar wenn man jedesmal die verschiedenen Logondaten suchen und eintippen muss.

3. Wenn ich einen Ordner "öffentlich" gemacht habe, gibt es auch eine Möglichkeit diesen wieder als "privat" zu markieren?

Deploy ASG-RD 2016 Patch3 via SCCM with License?

I am packaging this for deployment via App Catalog of SCCM 2012. It isn't clear how to import the license for use with this app. Has anyone found how to do this?

I am not an SME for this app nor do use it. I have no access to setup a user environment but assume this would not be required for what I'm asking.

Transferring files

Hi,

I would like to know the steps to transfer the data/files and settings from ASG 2012 to ASG 2015.
I am new to the software and would need help. It would be great if I can get a document regarding the same.

Visionapp 2012 licensing fails

We are running visionapp 2012 on a few old servers. When installing visionapp on a new machine I get the following error:

"Your software subscription has expired. You can't import this license in ASG Remote Desktop 2012".

Is there some trick to get it working or do I have to buy a new license key?

Can I import an exported .rde file into database based environment?

okay, so my database server crashed and I had no backup of ASG's database :-(

However, I do have an exported .rde file. It has all the information from my environment. I am able to import that .rde file into a file based environment successfully. I am able to see all my connections there.

However, I really want to import that rde file into a new database based environment I have created. The environment is blank (no connections). Whenever I try to import that rde file into the database based environment, I get this error:

I have tried multiple times, rebooted my machine also, also tried to re-export from the file based environment as a CSV and then tried to import.........all result in the exact same problem :-(
What do I do to resolve this problem?  Sad

Is this import not do-able?

Migration from Vision App 1.5 to ASG 2015 or 2016

We migrating our Windows 2003 with vision app 1.5 now to Windows 2012 R2. What is the best practise for exporting and importing the configuration. 

Also, what is the recommandend version? 2016 is crashing after the start. We have setup a new file "Standard" and created a password. Then we try to finish and get the following error:

Smart Card problems

Hi folks,
I have been using ASG for many years with success. Recently the company I work for has implemented smart cards for logons. It is a must/enforced.

I keep having intermittent problems while using ASG with our smart cards.

Smart card based authentication works absolutely fine with Windows own Remote Desktop client software. However with ASG, it comes to a screen where it says insert smart card. Smart card is there, but somehow ASG does not detect it.
Note that this is intermittent. Sometimes ASG also works....but most of the time, it does not :-(

The interesting observation is, the first auth screen in ASG does find the smart card, but the second screen does not. See below to see what I am talking about...

Login as user then root

How do I save the credentials to log into my Linux server as regular user then su root ?

I have multiple Linux servers and want to connect to them as root with one click without entering the password. Is there a way to ssh automatically as user and then root without having to enter the password for root?

ASG RD - Multiple VNC connections

Hello,
 
I have a question regarding ASG Remote Desktop and VNC connections.
I'm running ASG RD 9.0.5266.1 in 3 workstations. Each workstation has configured the same VNC connection on ASG RD. The problem is that when one of this workstations has opened a VNC session, in the others clients the connection is closed. 
That is strange because if I open a VNC session using, for example, UltraVNC, from 3 different workstations, it works fine.
I have tried also configuring the server to listen connections on 3 different ports and  connecting each client to a different port and the behavior is the same.

Help please!

Um das JIT-Debuggen (Just-In-Time) zu aktivieren, muss in der
Konfigurationsdatei der Anwendung oder des Computers
(machine.config) der jitDebugging-Wert im Abschnitt system.windows.forms festgelegt werden.
Die Anwendung muss mit aktiviertem Debuggen kompiliert werden.

Zum Beispiel:

Wenn das JIT-Debuggen aktiviert ist, werden alle nicht behandelten
Ausnahmen an den JIT-Debugger gesendet, der auf dem
Computer registriert ist, und nicht in diesem Dialogfeld behandelt.
Der Connection-Test der Datenbank ist erfolgreich. Wenn ich den Fehler ingnoriere und mich dann mit der Datenbank verbinde,
kommt derselbe Fehler wieder.

Eine Neuinstallation hat leider nicht geholfen.

Database merge

I am taking over the management of 2 databases.  They are both running an SQL 2011 backend server.  Each one has connections and Credentials that I want to save.  Is there a way to merge both databases into 1 without loosing information.  If I try to load the restore it wipes out the information from the previous database.  I can export the connections and reload them but then need to reassign the Credentials.  With over 4000 devices managed that would be extremely time consuming.  The most important thing is I want to save and load the credentials from both databases.  Let me know if you have any thoughts on the best way to do this.

ASG RD 2012 - Citrix Studio shows orphan sessions with SessionState Connected

Hi,

I wonder whether anybody else out there has experienced the following issue, which occurs in a large environment:
 
Problem description:
-We connect to our VDA’s (Servers W2K12 R2) via ASG RD 2012
-In Citrix Studio-->Sessions, the connected user is displayed in the column Current User with the ‘Session State’ ‘Active’
-After a while the Server is locked out due to inactivity.
-When we need to reconnect to the server we use ASG RD and click on ‘Reconnect’.
-Once reconnected, an ‘orphan’ user (-) is created in the Citrix Studio, with the session state ‘Connected’ In the Citrix Studio > Sessions ‘Orphane Users’ are listed in the ‘Current User’ column with no name but with a hyphen (-)
These Orhan users remain in the aforementioned column until the respective server has been restarted.

This behaviour leads to lack of an accurate overview and to increasing confusion.
Tests with ASG RD 2016 have stated the aforementioned behaviour, which means the issue exists also in ASG RD 2016.

-ASG Remote Desktop 2012, Version 7.3.4144.0

-All Servers are Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard

-Citrix Virtual Delivery Agent 7.8.0.232 (VDA)
-Citrix Studio on Delivery Controllers: 7.8.0.186

existing profile disapeared

When i open the tool, i get folowing message:

While there was a profile that connects to a database.

When I try to create the profile (add - database - connect to an existing database)
fill in environment name and database credentials, and click finish the environment does not get created.

Using Asg remote desktop 2012 patch 8
Where can i find the location that holds this information? (registry, file?)

What should i do to get this fixed?

Unhandled Exception when Visionapp is launched

This is only happening for one user.  When he launches VisionApp he receives this message:

An unhandled exception has occurred.  Please check your settings.

When I check the Application Event logs I see a large number of out of memory errors.

This is happening on two different servers connected to the same SQL database.  My guess is that one of his user settings stored in the DB is causing the error.  I would just like to try reseting him back to default but I can't find a way to do it.

I am using Visionapp Remote Desktop 2011 7.0.33280.0

visionapp 2011 hang with error 230

Hi

I get error (id: 230) message after click the OK button within the visionapp Remote Desktop 2011, and then it hangs. the error message is as below or see the attachment, could someone help on this? thank you in advance.

Error while getting folder (id: 230). Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
